I'm Adrian — I started EKC Colour Solutions in 2006 to do the kind of work that bigger painting teams couldn't be bothered with: careful prep, proper colour-matching, and a crew small enough that I'm on every job from walk-through to final sign-off.
01 — The manifesto
A good finish is mostly about the bit you can't see.
Prep — sanding back, stripping, filling, caulking, taping, priming — is eighty percent of the work and the reason a paint job either lasts three years or fifteen. I've watched too many painters skip it to hit a deadline, then have to re-do it twelve months later.
I don't take on more work than I can finish properly. I quote honestly, I tell you if something isn't worth doing, and I stand behind every finish I lay with a two-year workmanship guarantee.

Started
Solo operator, first customers in Hampton & Sandringham — mostly interior repaints for neighbours.
2013
First Crew
Added two apprentices. Took on first full exterior heritage project in Armadale.
2018
Commercial
Expanded into commercial fit-outs — hospitality, retail, and strata work across the inner south-east.
2026
Today
Two-vehicle crew of four. 2,400+ projects completed. Booking 8 weeks ahead.

Same process whether it's a single feature wall or a three-storey terrace exterior.

On-Site Walk-Through
I come to you, walk the space, measure, and photograph. I'll flag anything likely to cause issues — moisture, lead paint, substrate problems — before we go further.

Plain-English quote
Line-item quote in your inbox within 48 hours. No vague 'materials & labour' — every coat, every square metre, every bit of prep is listed separately.

Colour consult
If you want help, I'll bring sample pots, talk through sheen levels, test on-site under your actual lighting. Not included by default — but it's free.

Prep
The boring, essential 80%. Sand, strip, fill, caulk, tape, mask. Everything that isn't getting painted is covered. Every surface primed correctly.
05
Paint
Minimum two topcoats, always. Brush and roll for interiors, spray for exteriors and ceilings where appropriate. Drying times respected.
06
Walk-Off
We walk every room together before we pack up. Anything that needs touch-up gets touched up. Final invoice after you sign off, not before.
04 — The guarantee

Every paint job from EKC comes with a written two-year workmanship guarantee. If a finish we laid lifts, cracks, flakes, or peels due to our prep or application — we come back, we fix it, and it doesn't cost you a dollar.
This isn't about being generous. It's about doing the prep right the first time so we never have to use the guarantee. In seventeen years, I've had to come back under guarantee three times. Two of those were my fault. One was a leaking gutter that stripped the paint off the fascia — and I still fixed it.
